At Kotak Charitable Foundation , we are striving to support the grassroots sports ecosystem in India. Sports can be a huge enabler for millions of people in India and we want to play a role of a catalyst in making this happen. Our athlete-centered initiatives are programmed to help individuals from all walks of life.

Message

Sports being an integral part of the Kotak family and the drive to uplift the downtrodden and the needy in the rural sector. Mr. Mayur Kotak decided to form the Kotak Charitable Foundation in 2022 March.

Vision

At Kotak Charitable Foundation we decided to provide a platform for the budding athletes from interior districts, first to begin with from Gujarat State and also from the rural villages to form and structure a grassroot sports echo system which will help in for getting sports into their daily lives.

Purpose

We at Kotak Charitable Foundation decided to partner with High performance academies & highly performing and respectable coaches in their fields of the game to come forward to build an ecosystem that shall not just help the children and their families but also help the child to take up sport as a professional career.

About US

Kotak Family Journey

The journey of the Kotak Charitable Foundation is deeply rooted in the values of service and perseverance. It began with Shri Shambhuba Thakkar(Kotak), the elder of the Thakkar(Kotak) family, who moved from North Gujarat to Kutch with the vision of uplifting his large family. However, before his aspirations could fully take shape, the devastating earthquake of 26th January 2001 struck Kutch and surrounding areas, separating many families and leaving behind a trail of destruction.

Undeterred by the tragedy, Shri Shambhuba embraced the challenge with renewed determination. For him, family was not just limited to his own but extended to everyone around him. With a deep-seated passion for service, he dedicated himself to ensuring access to food and healthcare for those in need.

Areas of focus

Foundation for future Championships

Focusing on the concept of catch them young, and watch them train and grow. We at Kotak Charitable Foundation are dedicated to this cause, through our programs.
Training young children showing game specific athleticism from the age of 6years and above to groom them in a training atmosphere which is game specific, mainly to begin with for Badminton under the BEPP program.
Working on this concept for the last one and half year and after getting desired results, then taking these kids under this initiative of Kotak Charitable Foundation and Amrish Shinde Academy’s BEPP program.

From Village to Victory

There has always been a lack of awareness of racket sports in villages due to lack of infrastructure and facilities. Talent is abundant but they don’t get the opportunities to be able to get these kinds of opportunities.
So we at Kotak Charitable Foundation have decided to select around 5boys and 5 girls from the nearby interior villages of Anand and give them free of cost badminton training and expose them to the sports culture and try to inculcate sports professionalism and a competitive outlook for them to stand on the podium of a competition.
The name itself follows them to the path of victory, “Village to Victory” our most valuable program.
